The community was founded at the first Crash and Learn, in Utah, around a single orange six-person tent. It was designated Campsite One that year and has been present at every Crash and Learn since.

The Wawona is not available for lease. It is the anchor structure, and the office of President follows it.

Community history

Three designations, two states, one tent.

01Founded — UtahThe community forms at the first Crash and Learn around a single orange six-person tent, and is designated Campsite One that same year.
02Continuous occupationCampsite One has held the designation at every Crash and Learn since, in whatever state the conference has been held.
03Renamed — 2025The community begins operating as Camp Mogadishu, following a general increase in rowdiness.
04Relocated — 2026Management serves notice to vacate. The original parcel becomes a historic district. The Wawona moves intact.
